The Vice President was in Eastern Samar for a series of events.
At 1:25 pm, she attended the awarding of Bridging Leadership (BL) Plaque and Check to Gandara, Samar LGU. Gandara LGU is one of the special awardees of the BL Program for their livelihood program for the Keseo Producers Association. In an effort to create sustainable and collaborative initiatives that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) partnered with SEAOIL Foundation, Inc. to develop and implement a leadership and fellowship program titled “Angat Buhay Bridging Leadership Program”. The training was patterned after the BL framework, in line with the Vice President’s leadership values of being immersed, engaged, and results-driven.
At 1:40 pm, the Vice President led the turnover of girls’ dormitory to Balangkayan National High School and Senior High School in Brgy. Poblacion, Balangkayan. The dorm accommodates sixteen female dormers from different far-flung barangays in the municipality. The project hopes to decrease the absenteeism rate and eventually increase participation rate of the students.
At 2: 50 pm, she led the turnover of girls’ dormitory to Matarinao School of Fisheries in Brgy. Matarinao, Salcedo. The dormitory will provide shelter to students from other barangays who sacrifice to walk six kilometers daily to be in school. The dorm will accommodate twenty-two female dormers from far-flung barangays in the municipality.
At 4:05 pm, the Vice President visited Salcedo National High School in Brgy. Poblacion, Salcedo.
