The Vice President was in Eastern and Western Samar for a series of events.

At 8:35 am, she led the turnover of Angat Buhay Multicab to Balangkayan National High School and attended the Groundbreaking of dormitory in Balangkayan. One of the main issues Balangkayan National High School is facing is access due to its far distance from barangays such as Balogo and Caisawan. In September 2017, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) turned over a multicab. As a result, the absenteeism decreased from 7.77% to 5.69%. With the addition of more multicabs and a dormitory that can house 30 students, it is hoped that the absenteeism and drop out rates of the school will further decrease.

At 12:40 noon, the Vice President attended the ceremonial turnover of carabaos to 15 livelihood subsidy beneficiaries in Gandara, Western Samar. The municipality calls for collaboration and partnership to develop further agricultural production that allows increase in market connections, production, and value-adding activities for Gandara’s major agricultural products, such as its cheese delicacy called “keseo”. Providing them with more carabaos will enable them to produce more keseo to be sold to bigger markets.

At 2:05 pm, the Vice President toured around the Keseo Processing Center and attended the actual turnover of carabaos in Gandara.
