Interview with Vice President Leni Robredo on the Senate plenary deliberations on OVP 2019 budget

Senate plenary deliberations on OVP 2019 budget

    Senate of the Philippines

Q: Ma’am, so iyong 548 million, saan ang magiging focus talaga noong spending for this?

VP LENI: Kapag tiningnan niyo kasi iyong budget ng Office of the Vice President, iyong bulk talaga doon, personal saka operations. Last year, nabigyan kami ng 80 to 100 million [pesos] for programs.

Pero iyong bulk kasi ng Angat Buhay, inaasa natin sa private donors, dahil hindi naman sapat iyong budget allocation for the programs that we are doing. So mayroong dinagdag iyong Senate last year, na na-retain this year, pero— Malaking tulong iyon for us, dahil nakakatulong talaga siya pandagdag sa pagtulong sa mga communities. Pero iyong bulk pa din ng operations ng Angat Buhay, particularly iyong particular projects na binababa sa communities, because of our partnerships pa din with the private sector.

Q: Ma’am, mayroon kayong thoughts on the martial law declaration?

VP LENI: Budget na muna… [laughs]
