Office of the Vice President
1 July 2017
Vice President Leni Robredo launched the Istorya ng Pag-asa (INP) nationwide on June 28 (Wednesday) at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
Four extraordinary stories of ordinary Filipinos were the highlight of the event—1) Mrs. Lorna Tambaoan, a widow and turon and bananacue vendor who single-handedly put her four children through school; 2) cancer survivor, and now motivational speaker, Mr. Rudy Labata; 3) Airwoman First Class Hidilyn Diaz, who is a silver medalist in the 2016 Olympic Summer Games; and 4) Mrs. Dina Dela Paz-Stalder, who started as a household help and now a CEO of her own company.
INP is a program under the Office of the President that is focused on delivering stories to inspire Filipinos from all over the world. It is launched to amplify stories of hope with an objective to encourage its audience to fight for their dreams, regardless of their current daily struggles.
“Alam nating ang kuwento ng bawat Pilipino ay istorya ng pag-asa,” shared VP Leni Robredo during the event. “Kaya ang gusto nating mangyari, hanapin natin ang kuwento ng lahat ng karaniwang Pinoy na gumagawa ng di karaniwang bagay para magtagumpay. Sa kabila ng kahirapan, patuloy tayong nangangarap at nagsisikap.”
With INP, VP Leni hopes to change the conversation—from one filled with hatred and divisiveness, to a continuous exchange that encourages and inspires dreams to fruition.
