Message of Vice President Leni Robredo at the Leni-Kiko 22 Meet and Greet

Message of Vice President Leni Robredo
at the Leni-Kiko 22 Meet and Greet
The Immaculate Concepcion Major Seminary, Brgy. Tabe, Guiguinto, Bulacan

    [START 00:00:12]

[inaudible 00:43 - 00:47] 'Yung iba-iba pong mga organisasyon na nandito, 'yung galing sa academe, 'yung iba pang mga institutions to the society na represented this afternoon, maraming salamat po for joining us in this afternoon of prayer.

‘Yung dahilan po kung bakit andito lahat tayo ngayon, talaga pong we really take time– we really set aside time to talk to the religious, to talk to the clergy, to talk to the laity, na samahan kami sa laban na ito. Pero I think we all agree that this elections is very extraordinary. It is so unlike ordinary elections in the sense that there is so much at stake sa May 2022. Pag sinabi ko pong "There is so much at stake," ano na po ito eh, battle to regain the soul of our nation.

That realization is one of the reasons why so many people now are so invested in these elections. Hindi na lang po ito contest ng mga kandidato pero ang pinag-uusapan na dito, anong klaseng pamamahala, anong klaseng politika 'yung gusto nating mamayani sa bansa natin in the next six years. And little by little, people are coming out, little by little people are making known their desire na mag-contribute ng ambag para sa siguraduhin na 'yung eleksyon will be based on what is true.

Ang pinaka problema po natin ngayon, disinformation. Ang pinaka problema po natin ngayon, maraming mga paniniwala, mga mind-sets, mga values nayurakan because of all the fake news and propaganda that is available online.

A lot of things has happened [inaudible 3:58 - 4:00] last six years and it requires a lot of love and understanding on our part.

Kaya ko po ‘yun sinasabi kasi there is so much polarization and toxicity already, na sana hindi na tayo mag-contribute doon. 'Yung para po sa akin, 'yung pinaka malaking tulong ng bawat isa sa atin is to make sure that we go out on our circles. Mag-reach out, una sa pamilya, pangalawa sa ating intimate circles para magtulong-tulungan po tayo in making sure that these elections will be based on integrity and facts,

So 'yung sa akin po, there are 65 more days to do from today. Ang palagay namin, it is enough time for us to go out, to reach out. Pero ang hinihingi lang po namin sa inyo is to be with us in this fight. Pag sinabi po namin na "Be with us in this fight," hindi lang po kami 'yung lalaban, pero kayo din, dahil kung kami lang po 'yung lalaban, in 65 days hindi talaga siya enough. So ang hinihingi po namin sa inyo if you can join us– if you can join us in fighting all the demons that have been hounding us for the last [inaudible 5:48], and to make sure na 'yung maluluklok. hindi lang po sa national government, even sa local, just to make sure 'yung maluluklok na mga public servants, mga matitino at mahuhusay. Ito lang po 'yung pag-asa natin para to bring about the kind of change that we need for our country. Bawat eleksyon po, pagkakataon na reset lahat, and these elections is the biggest reset button [of all 6:19].

Kaya po 'yung ating battle cry na "Gobyernong tapat, angat buhay lahat," hindi lang po iyon battle cry, pero it is both a promise and a call-to-action. And 'yung pag-ayos ng pamamahala kailangan punan po natin each and every one of you to contribute to making sure that these elections will bring forth the kind of leadership that our country needs. Kailangan po nating magdasal ng maayos. Pag sinabi ko pong magdasal ng maayos, siguraduhin natin na all of us are guided by the inspiration from this belief na matulungan tayo na 'yung mga kababayan natin will decide with wisdom and discernment para hindi tayo magkamali sa eleksyon na ito.

Kami naman po ni Senator Kiko, kasama pa po ko si Dean Chel Diokno, si Attorney Sonny Matula, Representative po of Senator Sonny Trillanes, Representative of Senator Leila De LIma, Senator Dick Gordon, Senator Risa Hontiveros, parepareho po ang pinaglalaban namin. Ang pinaglalaban po natin dito ang pag siguro na 'yung pamahalaan natin magiging matapat para nagagampanan namin 'yung aming trabahong maayos na to bring about the kind of change that we need for our country, but we really really need your help. So, siguro po if [inaudible 8:13 - 8:15] my appeal to really calling everyone to join us in the next 65 days to make sure that our elections will really be– the results of the elections will really be what will be the best for the country. Maraming salamat po ulit. [inaudible 8:30 - 40] We hope to see you all tonight, this afternoon pala, we hope to see you all again this afternoon in Malolos [inaudible 8:46 - 8:51]. We really appreciate the warmth and the support, and the love that you have been showing us since we arrived in San Jose del Monte earlier this morning. We have been going around already after this papunta na po kaming Malolos so we hope to see you there. Maraming salamat.
