OVP-Astoria Plaza Hotel Partnership Begins Scholarship Program for URS Students

    Office of the Vice President

    20 July 2017

Last Tuesday, July 18, the students endorsed by the OVP began their internship at Astoria Plaza Hotel in Pasig City. This was made possible through the partnership between the Astoria Culinary and Hospitality Institute (ACHI), the educational arm of Astoria Plaza Hotel, and the Angat Buhay program of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

A total of 10 senior students taking up Tourism and Hospital and Restaurant Management at the University of Rizal Systems (URS) have been granted 100% sponsorship in a 208-hour internship program with Astoria Plaza Hotel.

Through the scholarship program, ACHI has pledged to reach out to underprivileged students who are committed to building a brighter future for themselves. The internship program intends to provide hands-on training to improve competencies and increase competitiveness of students who are looking to join the hospitality management industry.

Like ACHI, Angat Buhay focuses on empowering students from marginalized families as they prepare for livelihood and employment opportunities.
