Vice President Leni Robredo reiterated her call for civility in public discourse, as she confirmed that her camp is looking into filing charges against the blogger in the controversial federalism campaign video.

VP Leni, who was maligned by Drew Olivar in a video posted online last year, said there is no room for lewd pronouncements, especially in discussing policies of the government.

The Vice President noted that the federalism campaign video, which features Olivar and Presidential Communications ASec. Mocha Uson, was an insult to Filipinos — especially since it was filmed in a government office, with the “supervision” of a government official paid using taxpayers’ money.

The Vice President said such actions are not helpful to President Rodrigo Duterte, whom Olivar and Uson support.

“Kapag ganito iyong ginagamit na paraan, hindi lang si Pangulo iyong nababastos, pero lahat ng Pilipino,” she told reporters during her visit to the fishing community of Barangay Caloco, Tinambac, Camarines Sur.

“Ganito bang kabastusan iyong pino-promote natin bilang mga Pilipino? Kung kinakailangan na mag-intervene tayo para pahintuin iyong mga ganito, gagawin natin,” she added.

During the interview, VP Leni was asked about possible charges against Olivar, over a video he posted last year, where he made sexual allegations against the Vice President.

In response, she confirmed that her lawyers are exploring legal action against Olivar, when his video resurfaced online amid the uproar over the lewd federalism campaign video.

“Marami lang iyong mga naghihikayat sa atin na mag-file ng legal action,” she said. “[N]angako tayo na papag-aralan natin sa mga abogado kasi apektado hindi lang ako, pero apektado iyong maraming Pilipino na nalalaswaan sa ginagawa.”
