Vice President Sara Duterte leads distribution of aid in Caluya, Antique

Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday (March 13) led the distribution of aid to thousands of residents affected by the oil spill in Caluya, Antique.

Along with the distribution of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Office of the Vice President distributed Relief for Individuals in Crisis and Emergencies (RICE) food boxes to 1,200 affected residents in Barangays Seminara, Tinogboc, Alegria and Sibolo, and Sitio Liwagao.

According to the Office of the Vice President - Disaster Operations Center (OVP-DOC), more than 7,617 families or 25,733 individuals, of which 450 are seaweed planters and 3,649 fishermen, are affected by the oil spill. The town of Caluya has been declared under a state of calamity.
