VP Leni: Consistent rise in surveys affirms work for Pinoys at the ‘laylayan’

Vice President Leni Robredo said the consistent rise of her survey ratings affirms and inspires the work that her office is doing for the Filipino people, especially those at the fringes of society.

Over the past year, VP Leni continued to enjoy the trust and approval of majority of Filipinos, as shown in results of periodic polls conducted by major survey firms.

The latest Pulse Asia poll showed that VP Leni enjoys an 59-point approval rating, two points higher from September 2017, and a 58-point trust rating, up by three points from the previous quarter.

Prior to this, a Social Weather Stations survey for the last quarter of 2017 showed the Vice President’s net satisfaction rating at a “good” +42—a steady climb in her numbers for 2017.

The Vice President has said that the continued trust and confidence shown by the people through these survey results show that her office is on the right track, in particular over its work to help alleviate poverty in the country.

Since assuming office in June 2016, VP Leni has led the shift of the Office of the Vice President from mere ceremonial duties to more advocacy-driven work, with its flagship anti-poverty program, Angat Buhay, and its livelihood-focused wing, Angat Kabuhayan.

Driven by the support of partners, mostly from the private sector, Angat Buhay has provided P176-million worth of projects that benefited 89,958 families around the country. The program is currently present in 176 areas in the Philippines.
