This website adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline.     VP Leni to meet with Filipino community in Bangkok, speak at UN agency event on food security

    Vice President Leni Robredo is set to leave for a two-day working visit in Thailand, where she will speak before a regional symposium on food security and nutrition, upon the invitation of a United Nations-affiliated agency.

    VP Leni will kick off her visit on Thursday evening, by meeting with members of the Filipino community in Bangkok.

    The group includes Filipinos working in international and regional organizations—such as the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (UNFAO), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO). In the meeting, the Vice President will present her “Angat Buhay” anti-poverty program and explore possible collaborations with such organizations. She will also be joined by retired Filipino UN workers and fellow Bicolanos in the capital.

    On Friday, the Vice President will be among international leaders speaking before the Asia-Pacific Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition.

    Aiming to help the region achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture, the occasion will gather parliamentarians, policy-makers, academics, UN agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders from 30 countries within the region, to discuss practical and evidence-based steps for food security and nutrition.

    The said event is organized by the UNFAO, in partnership with the WHO, the World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the World Bank.

    Also speaking at the symposium are Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhay Ly and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, UNFAO Special Ambassador for Zero Hunger in Asia and the Pacific.

    Food security and nutrition is one of the six key advocacies under “Angat Buhay.” Through the help of its partners, most of whom are from the private sector, the Office of the Vice President has given P8.5-million worth of assistance for feeding and nutrition programs, which benefitted 2,345 malnourished children and lactating mothers over the past year. It has also provided P1.45-million worth of food packs and multivitamins for 5,392 families.
