VP Leni promises to prioritize agricultural development, shares plans for education, healthcare in Davao visit

VP Leni promises to prioritize agricultural development, shares plans for education, healthcare in Davao visit

Presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo has committed to addressing issues faced by Davaoeños, especially farmers who put food on our tables everyday, at the ‘Reporma: Angat Buhay Lahat Grand People’s Rally of Davao Region’ on Thursday, April 7.

Robredo delivered her message of hope and change in front of a 35,000-strong crowd at the New City Hall Grounds in Tagum City, which saw a sea of pink, thanks to the thousands in attendance who wore pink shirts and held up pink props at the event.

According to the presidential candidate, a Robredo administration will prioritize farmers and provide them the necessary assistance they need. “Ang amin pong pangako, pag kami nabigyan ng pagkakataon, priority po natin asikasuhin 'yung ating mga magsasaka dahil sila 'yung nagbibigay sa atin ng pagkain araw-araw,” she said.

Robredo added that she had the opportunity to hold a conversation with banana growers at the City Hall. They shared their plight with her, saying many of their crops are sick. Robredo promised the crowd she will ensure crop insurance for those in the agriculture industry.

Robredo likewise outlined her plan for the education sector, telling the students present at the rally: “Hindi magiging hadlang ang kahirapan para hindi kayo makapag-aral”.

Robredo has previously said that if she is elected President in the upcoming May 9 elections, she will declare an education crisis to improve the quality of education in the country. She said improving the country’s quality of education will provide more job opportunities for younger Filipinos.

In her message during the grand rally, Robredo also did not forget to mention and thank the healthcare workers and medical professionals who have been tirelessly working during the pandemic –some of whom she was able to meet before the event.

Robredo said that her administration will ensure that all Filipinos receive proper medical treatment regardless of financial capability.

As with all other rallies in the past, Robredo reiterated that if she wins in the elections, her presidency will serve everyone, no matter what political color.

[End]
