VP Leni returns to Marawi, Lanao provinces
Presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo would be in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, and Lanao del Norte on Thursday and Friday, March 31 and April 1, for dialogues on peace and development in the area.
Robredo is set to start her Thursday with a dialogue with the Small Bansilon Farmers’ Association (SBFA) in Small Bansilon, Tangcal, Lanao del Norte. SBFA received assistance from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in setting up a virgin coconut oil facility, which Robredo turned over to the farmers in January 2020.
Robredo will then deliver the keynote speech at the Academic Symposium on the Role of Academe, Youth, Traditional Leaders in Nation Building in Mindanao State University-Maigo, which gathered academics, sultans, datus, and student leaders of Lanao to discuss policy proposals to promote awareness in culture and history and to foster a better understanding between peoples in Mindanao.
She will join two people’s rallies organized by her supporters in Maigo and in Kauswagan, both in Lanao del Norte.
On Friday, the Vice President will have a dialogue with the Bamboo Landers Multi-Sectoral Rural Workers Association in Buadiposo-Buntong, Lanao del Sur, who were granted livelihood assistance through OVP’s Angat Buhay program.
Robredo will also dialogue with residents of the Angat Buhay Village in Marawi City, where the OVP built 72 housing units for 112 families displaced by the fighting in the city.
Robredo will cap her tour of the Lanao provinces with the Lanao del Sur People’s Rally in Marawi City. [End]
