Thanking frontliners through #SulatNgPagasa, #SalamatSaPagasa
VP Leni’s Istorya ng Pag-asa launches drive for letters, inspiring stories in time of COVID-19
The Istorya ng Pag-asa program of the Office of Vice President Leni Robredo has launched two initiatives aimed at recognizing the important role of frontliners amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In “Sulat ng Pag-asa”, ordinary Filipinos—especially children—are encouraged to send in letters and artworks thanking frontliners and volunteers for the work that they do in these difficult times. Letters may also be addressed to patients who are fighting the disease.
Those who wish to participate may either scan or take a high-resolution photo of their letter or artwork, made on plain white paper, and send it to the Istorya ng Pag-asa team via email ([email protected]) or via Viber, WhatsApp or Telegram (0917 889 4250).
The letters and artworks will be printed by the OVP, so they may be sent to hospitals, partners, and volunteers along with other donations being distributed by the Office.
Aside from bringing cheer to frontliners, the project also hopes to provide an avenue for children to express themselves, which many of them may find difficult to do during stressful situations such as this.
Meanwhile, “Salamat sa Pag-asa” calls on Filipinos to share inspirational stories that they have witnessed during the Enhanced Community Quarantine. It may feature frontliners or even fellow citizens who have done their part to help others.
Those who may wish to share such stories may use the hashtag #SalamatSaPagasa, or send these anecdotes to the Istorya ng Pag-asa team via email ([email protected]) or via Viber, WhatsApp or Telegram (0917 889 4250).
These stories will be posted on Istorya ng Pag-asa’s Facebook and Instagram pages, and may also be featured on the radio program “Biserbisyong Leni”, which airs every Sunday morning at DZXL RMN 558 Manila, its regional affiliates, and on Facebook Live.
